[Exclusive Performance & Interview] Neon Trees Dish About Their Hair & Music At Coachella
Our friends in L.A. are on site all weekend covering the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. Stay tuned right here for the latest reviews, photos, and videos.
This weekend will be the first time Utah-based rockers [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Neon Trees[/lastfm] take the stage to perform at Coachella.

Before the sun sets and they perform, they stopped by our Coachella House and talked about In ‘N Out, veganism, and their favorite personal Coachella experiences.
The Neon Trees have had a hell of a year. Their debut album Habits was released last year and their single “Animal” made it to #1 on the Alternative Rock Charts.
Lead singer Tyler Glenn explained that he couldn’t ever have imagined the incredible success of Habits. “It was more than we could have expected for our first year and our first album.”
Even though, this is their first Coachella performance, it’s not their first time at the festival. A few years ago, the guys recorded a demo album, made a bunch of copies, and used Coachella as their marketing home base.
“We burned like 500 CDs, like demos, and handed them out in the parking lot.”
However, the guys in Neon Trees have plenty of favorite moments from attending past Coachella performances. Guitarist Chris Allen said his personal choice for favorite Coachella moment was when he saw [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]the Pixies[/lastfm] in 2006 (“it was pretty magical”).
[pullquote quote="Instead of getting defensive [about our hair] we’re going to embrace it.”]Tonight when the Neon Trees take the stage, they’ll be donning some super-awesome custom-made items will poke fun at their own wild hairstyles.
“Instead of getting defensive [about our hair] we’re going to embrace it.”
You’re probably going to want to embrace it as well, especially after checking out the performance they did at the 2011 KROQ Coachella House.
