Our friends in Chicago have a prime spot in Grant Park and are covering Lollapalooza all weekend long–check back early and often for show reviews, tons of photos, backstage interviews, and exclusive live sessions.
The unique band was founded in Mexico in 2008 by vocalist/guitarist [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Teri Gender Bender[/lastfm]. The band is known for their outrageous live shows and costumes. [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Le Butcherettes[/lastfm] dress in ’50s-era women’s clothing such as feather dusters, brooms, aprons, fake blood, flour, eggs, and a real pig’s head-depicting women as slaves of the household.
Gender Bender relocated the band to Los Angeles and recruited the drummer Gabe Serbian, and the bassist Jonathan Hischke, making the band a trio. Le Butcherettes signed for a worldwide booking, leading to US dates with the The Flaming Lips, Omar Rodriguez Lopez and Jane’s Addiction. Playing and opening at different music festivals, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez signed the band to his own Productions imprint in 2010. Recently they have been at different events and soon to perform at Lollapalooza!
