The third and final day of Outside Lands 2011 clearly had the most eclectic lineup of the weekend. From the electronic music to classic rock to indie-rock, there was something to satisfy every type of music fan. Artists like STS9, Major Lazer, Deadmau5, John Fogerty, Arcade Fire and tons more rocked on four different stages in the middle of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
What better way to spend the afternoon than dancing with thousands of strangers in the middle of Golden Gate Park? When [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Major Lazer[/lastfm] hit the Twin Peaks stage a sea of people went nuts for the Diplo and Switch headed project. The DJ-producer duo knew exactly how to hype up the crowd and the energy was infectious. The party vibe even prompted the two to climb the stage rafters, dance on top of speakers and jump into the crowd!
The party didn’t end there. Electronic music fans waited anxiously for [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Deadmau5[/lastfm]‘s closing night set. The mouse head-wearing DJ/producer hit the stage 20 minutes earlier than expected much to the delight of festival goers. Perched on top of his signature cube, the show became quite the spectacle. An eye-popping light show electrified Golden Gate Park as a sea of dance-happy fans grooved into the night.
There was a much different vibe on the other side of the park as OSL day 3 headliners [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Arcade Fire[/lastfm] rocked the main stage to close out the festival. Fireworks soared above Golden Gate Park as the band ripped through power indie-rock anthems like “Rebellion (Lies)” and “Wake Up.” Their finale set was nothing short of epic.
We’ll see you next year!
