The Rock and Roll of Fame suffers from the ‘everybody has to win’ mindset. Just as every kid who has ever worn soccer cleats wins a trophy, every band that’s ever hit the charts is ready for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Shouldn’t any Hall of Fame contain the elite, the very best?
I guess you can’t throw a party unless you invite someone. I’ll start taking the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame more seriously when they start giving out the awards at, you guessed it, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And just to anticipate the obvious, I’m perfectly willing to start the “I don’t really like [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rush[/lastfm] very much, but even dumbasses like me think they should probably be in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” Facebook page. Let the angry posts begin.
