“Transformers” Set To Be Overhauled
Transformers 4 is set to hit theaters in 2014, and director Michael Bay is back for the fourth film in the series. However, he may be the only one back from the previous films.
The plan is to reboot the series to “evolve” the storyline.
E!Online is reporting that producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura has said that the franchise’s creative team plans to overhaul the story. No decision has been made on which characters will be making an appearance in the new film of the series.
“We really are going to do a reboot there, and what that’s going to be we don’t even know yet,” the producer explained. “It’s a hybrid…It’s an evolution. There’s still continuity that’s going on, and yet there’ll be a lot of new cast.”
The only thing he is sure of is that everyone’s favorite transformers will be back, “…the characters that would certainly come along would be Optimus and Bumblebee, I’m sure.”
Shia LaBeouf might just be relieved to hear that they are giving the series a facelift. Last year the actor told MTV, “I just don’t think right now there’s anywhere to take [his character] Sam…I love working with Michael. I would do any movie Michael wants to do. I just don’t think there’s anywhere to take it with Sam.”
Well looks like 2014 might jump start the career of a new generation of Transformer stars.
