Courtney Love Not Amused By Muppets’ Use Of Nirvana Song

Courtney Love is not amused by the Muppets’ use of the Nirvana classic “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in the Muppets film (due to be released on DVD next week.)

The furry little friends perform a barber shop version of the grunge tune. Good fun. Unless you’re Courtney. She feels the Muppets tainted the memory of Kurt Cobain.

Turns out the Muppets got the rights legally. Guess Ms Love forgot she sold the rights of her husband’s songs to Primary Wave Music. And they gave permission to use the song. Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic gave their OK’s as well. Seems they have their sense of humors intact.

In fact, Dave was in the movie. Maybe if the make the sequel to Up they can send Courtney on a journey propelled by balloons where she finds herself in Humor Land, and comes back a shiny, happy person. One can only hope.
