[pullquote quote="It's become a perfect combination of my fantastical robot-world vision...it's hokey and wonderful and poignant and powerful." credit="Wayne Coyne"]Long live The Flaming Lips! Music released in gummy skulls, weird toys, their willingness to work with other artists, and appearances at big festivals.
This time it’s a full theatrical show, now nearing arrival, with a 2012 due date. Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots will premiere November or December at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego.
“It’ll be a big chunk of Flaming Lips music, probably about 30 songs,” Coyne told Billboard. “It’s a big deal.”
