It’s no secret that Johnny Depp is an incredible actor. But what’s becoming more clear this year is Depp’s enthusiastic entrance into the world of rock n roll.
Depp’s close friendship with Marilyn Manson led to his appearance on stage at the Golden Gods Awards. He strummed alongside Manson, winning over throngs of hyper-critical metalheads.
Last night Captain Jack Sparrow once again, with axe in hand, took the stage. This time with The Black Keys. After the song and a montage of his most famous footage including his roles as Sparrow the drunken sea captain, Edward Scissor Hands and Ed Wood the B-movie director, Depp was given the “Generation Award” by Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. Depp responded with the following; “Clearly, based on the clips, there’s obviously something wrong with me.”
He then took back to his guitar and joined in a performance of The Black Keys “Lonely Boy.”
