Blur formed in 1988 and released their debut album, Leisure, in 1991. In the six albums that followed, Blur has been everything from “Britpop” to “Indie” to “Art Rock.” But since their last studio release, 2003’s Think Tank, until their 2010 documentary, No Distance Left to Run, Blur had been only one thing: silent.
But since the release of No Distance Left to Run, Blur has been on the move. They announced earlier this year that they will be recording a new album and released two new singles, “The Puritan” and “Under the Westway” just last week.
And now, excitement for the reunion continues to build with the new music video. With its haunting vocals, longing guitars, and elegant piano, “Under the Westway” has a dream-like quality that is perfectly captured in a simple yet effective video that consists of nothing more than Blur performing the song in studio.
There is no official word on when the upcoming album will be released, but fans can wet their appetite by watching the new video.
