Flea, bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, has been outspoken for years about his pride for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a non-profit organization he and a group of friends created in 2001.
Titled Helen Burns after the character from Jane Eyre, Flea says the E.P. is a “trippy” recording not suitable for commercial radio.
He adds, “Warning! It is not a Chili Pepper record. It does not have songs that are like the Chili Peppers at all. It is a mostly instrumental, weird and arty record, the music is mostly just me creating soundscapes that are very emotional for me, but certainly not for everyone! Just me tripping out at home.”

With 100% of the proceeds going to the Conservatory, Flea has instructed the the price be set at whatever the fans name their own price. Download the 6-track E.P. here.
The Conservatory offers private music lessons at a reasonable cost and grants scholarships to children in need, providing free lessons and instruments. See the official site for details.
