The punk world bid a farewell to one of its beloved members this month when No Use For A Name‘s Tony Sly passed away at 41. Foo Fighters‘ Chris Shiflet has requested your financial and moral support for Sly’s family.
Today, Shiflet, a friend and former bandmate posted a request to the Foo Fighters Facebook page.
“As many of you know, on July 31st my old friend and former bandmate Tony Sly passed away unexpectedly. His family has set up a memorial fund for his wife and kids. If anyone would like to contribute, please click below. Those of you unable to contribute financially, but still wanting to show support, can send letters and share memories of Tony with his family by writing to: Tony Sly Memorial, PO Box 54405, San Jose, CA 95154.” — xo Chris Shiflet
Prior to joining Foo Fighters, Shiflet was lead guitarist in Sly’s No Use For A Name from 1995-1999.
