With the Green Day machine roaring ahead at full steam, fans are being treated with all sorts of goodies, from “surprise” club shows and festival appearances to high-profile videos, all leading up to the three-album extravaganza, ¡UNO!, ¡DOS! and ¡TRE!, with ¡UNO! hitting the streets on September 25.
After already debuting the model-ridden and borderline NSFW clip for first single “Oh Love,” the band is getting set to unleash a brand new video for the second single from ¡UNO!, “Kill the DJ,” due to premiere on September 4. While fans patiently wait to see the big reveal, Green Day has dropped a teaser video to whet their appetite.
In the teaser for the danceable, post-punk song, we see Billie Joe Armstrong and the guys cruising in the desert on motorcycles in stark black and white footage, which is interspersed with full-color shots of the band playing what looks a high gymnasium. In what could be homage to the classic horror film Carrie, there are brief glimpses of girls in the club covered in blood.
We’ll have to wait until the full clip debuts on September 4 to see what it all means, but from the looks of it (and the blood), there’s a chance the song title is taken literally in the video.
On the heels of the video release, Green Day is slated to perform during the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles on September 6 alongside such acts as Frank Ocean, Taylor Swift and One Direction.
