With the world abuzz about Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day falling ill in Italy, forcing the band to cancel a show there (his sister says he’s fine – just a rough bout of food poisoning), the release of their new video for “Kill The DJ” almost went overlooked.
The clip (another one lensed by long-time Green Day director Samuel Bayer) juxtaposes black and white images of Green Day roaring through the desert on vintage motorbikes with full color shots of the band wandering around and eventually playing the disco-punky track to a rave full of tattooed party people.
The video gets really interesting when a couple of women at the party decide to beat each other up, and a bunch of people start bleeding all over the place. We’d love to show it to you, but the song is loaded with so many F-bombs we lost count. So we’ll just point you here with the requisite NSFW warning.
Green Day fans will want to tune into the MTV Video Music Awards tonight (Sept. 6), where the band is among the slate of performers with the likes of Rihanna and Calvin Harris.
