Since exporting Sugar Cubes‘ pixie-like songstress Bjork, Iceland has fallen short of producing another breakout artist, until now.
Of Monsters and Men have not only instantly endeared themselves with Americans but audiences all over the globe have succumb to their disarmingly genuine harmonies.
Right out of the gate, they were immediately being compared to Arcade Fire and Mumford & Sons. Since releasing My Head Is an Animal, their debut album, the indie folk-pop band has found themselves on the world stage; they’ve been the darlings of the festival circuit.
In contrast to the group’s first music video, the computer animated short film for “Little Talks,” the band took a decidedly organic approach to telling the story of their latest single, “Mountain Sound.” We watch as the band has fun putting together and performing an outdoor concert for a few thousand fans in their home town of Reykjavik.
Of Monsters and Men’s debut album My Head is an Animal is available now on Universal Records.
