Disney will soon release its latest animated film titled Wreck-It-Ralph, about a world full of classic video game stars. Ralph, voiced by John C Reilly, longs to be the game’s perfect good guy but finds himself in a world of trouble when he sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal.
It was revealed at ComicCon that Skrillex, (Sonny Moore) would be contributing to the soundtrack. But what wasn’t known was that Skrillex would actually make a cameo in the film as an animated DJ.
Total Film spoke to movie’s producer Clark Spencer about the cameo. Spencer describes asking Skrillex to be part of the film; “We have this party scene in the world of Fix It Felix Jr, and we have a DJ and we think it would make a nice cameo if we put you into it.”
Thrilled, Skrillex immediately accepted the role. Soon thereafter, the production team presented him with a model of his animated DJ character. The only changes Skrillex’ asked of the model was that his shoe color be changed, saying “My tennis shoes will always be black.” Ironically, Spencer says the animated character’s shoes can’t be seen in the film, “as he’s behind the DJ booth.”
Regardless of shoes on camera or not, Spencer commented Skrillex has seen the animation and “he’s very, very excited about it.”
Wreck-It Ralph is set to hit theaters November 2nd, 2012.
