The San Diego, CA crew known as Slightly Stoopid is riding “high” on the warm reception from their latest full-length release, “Top of the World,” which hit stores in August.
The 8-man band garnered nearly immediate radio play as a result the album’s early buzz.
To accompany the title track, the reggae-roots-punk-hip-hop-funk-metal group has released a simple, yet effective video for telling the story behind “Top of the World.” When you’re on top, everyone wants a piece, when you’re down and out, no one comes around.
When you’re down and out
Nobody opens their mouth
No-one ever come around your way
When you’re on top of the world
Every man and every girl
Wanna come and get some s**t for free
When you’re sittin on the corner
No one ever gonna pay you any mind that day
You’re just sittin’ outside gettin’ colder
Top of the World is available now.
