Shiny Toy Guns Stay Forever Young With “Faded Listening” Video
As reunited electro-rockers Shiny Toys Guns bask in the wave of critical acclaim surrounding their new full-length, III, the band has revealed the kid-centric music video for the album’s lead single, “Faded Listening.”
“We got really lucky, because when we put them all together, none of them knew each other,” said singer Carah Faye to CBS Local about the collection of kids between the ages of eight and ten years old that populate the clip. “They were four complete strangers who don’t really play instruments and have never done this, and there was a real cohesion to it. They all had a blast and it got very emotional by the end of the day.”
The video portrays a typical day in the life of the “Tiny Toy Guns,” from rolling in a stretch limousine to the recording studio to tracking the warm, atmospheric song reminiscent of classic Fleetwood Mac in the smooth melodies and vintage drum sounds. Among the kids in the video include guitarist Chad Petree’s eight year old daughter Ally portraying Carah Faye, and the son of punk band H2O‘s singer Toby Morse as the band’s drummer Mikey Martin.
“The two kids that were running the faders (in the video) were Chad’s brother’s daughters,” added Carah faye, “So it was like a real family.”
Shiny Toy Guns is currently on a U.S tour with stops in Philadelphia (Oct. 27), Washington, D.C. (Oct. 29) and a show on Halloween night (Oct. 31) in New York City.
