Tonight’s HFS Locals Only Spotlight artist is a band named Chillem from Dundalk.
Their bio on Facebook states that they’re influenced by Blink-182, Sublime, Weezer, Jack Johnson, Avenged Sevenfold, The Offspring, and Coheed And Cambria. Do they sound like any of these bands? Not really. But here’s the key: Chillem knows that the aforementioned bands make really catchy songs, and that is this band’s sole mission. As far as they’re concerned…if you hear their music, and it’s not stuck in your head, they didn’t do their job.
What’s more, the song we’re playing on the air tonight, “Love You So”, is the kind of simple song that will make a girl feel special, even if you smell strangely like Beer Nuts. They might have a winning formula on their hands.
If you want to check these guys out live, their next show is this Friday, November 2nd at Chapala’s Blue Beatle Rock Bar in Burtonsville…and if you want to find out more about ‘em, check out their ReverbNation page or their Facebook page.
If you’ve got a local band you’d like us to feature on the HFS Locals Only Spotlight weeknights at 9 PM, here’s how to get your stuff to us.
And here’s a little bonus for you…since the band doesn’t have a splashy, big-budget music video for “Love You So’, we’ll show you their acoustic take of another catchy song that you know.
