HFS Locals Only Spotlight: Lost Philosophies

Tonight’s HFS Locals Only Spotlight artist is Northern Virginia’s Lost Philosophies.

The band is actually a side project of Jake Mimikos and Shawn Battle of Northern Virginia hard rock band (and Jagermeister Music Tour veterans) Fight The Lion, along with Skylar Bristow, who was once in a band with Mimikos called Common Ground.  This is one of those situations when a separate band was clearly in order, as Lost Philosophies brings more of a chill, acoustic, reggae-rock sound…so if you’re a fan of Sublime, The Dirty Heads, Jack Johnson and such, their work will likely be right down your alley.

If you like what you hear, you can keep up with their exploits through their Facebook page, and you’ve also got a chance to catch them live on Friday December 21st at Dogfish Head Alehouse in Fairfax as they play an “End Of The World Party” with Grey Sky Eternal.

If you’ve got a local band you’d like us to feature on the HFS Locals Only Spotlight weeknights at 9 PM, here’s how to get your stuff to us.
