Tonight’s HFS Locals Only Spotlight features the world premiere of a new song by the Annapolis punk rock force known as Drop The Bad Idea.
These three guys–Bryant on guitar, Josh on bass, Doc on drums–gained steam playing in plenty of other local punk bands and are now ready to kick you in the face with raw, classic, in-your-face punk rock. Their stated influences read while a who’s-who of HFS punk rock history: The Clash, Rancid, Bad Religion, U.S. Bombs, AFI, Operation Ivy, GasLight Anthem, Bouncing Souls, Aggrolites, Transplants, Offspring, The Ramones. Did they come up with that list to impress you? Not likely, since they’re not out to impress anyone…they’re out to make noise that cause complaints from the neighbors.
Hearing Drop The Bad Idea on the radio is one thing…but seeing ’em live completes the experience, and you’ll get to do just that at the December 2012 edition of HFS Locals Only Live, this Thursday, December 20th at Angels Rock Bar in Power Plant Live. They’ll be sharing the stage with Roll It Over, A Crimson Atlantic, Ashes To Embers, and The Evokatones. Doors open at 8, the bands start at 9, and admission is free (but you have to be at least 21 to get in).
And if the music these guys play make you shout “F**K YEAH”, check ’em out on their Facebook page and their ReverbNation page, then join us for the show this Thursday night at Angels Rock Bar. If you’ve got a local band you’d like us to feature on the HFS Locals Only Spotlight weeknights at 9 PM, here’s how to get your stuff to us.
