In “Hollow,” Alice In Chains‘ first video from their forthcoming Spring 2013 release, the band stuck to what they know best, beauty balanced by sadness.
An astronaut is deployed into space, alone, to conduct experiments on plants and animals. The video chronicles the journey as he endlessly circles the earth. As time progresses and a day turns to a year, things go from good to bad. Through video chat, his relationship goes from inspired to hellish, while his experiments on large slug-like animals take a turn for the worse.
Most recently known for his work on Green Day‘s creative video for “Stray Heart,” director Robert Schober (aka Roboshobo) employs the imagery of a full-length science fiction thriller, to tell the horrifying tale of one man feeling “Hollow.”
Alice in Chains as yet untitled forthcoming album is set to hit stores this Spring.
