Dramatic UK chanteuse Florence Welch has teamed up with emerging rapper A$AP Rocky on a new song, “I Come Apart,” which is a bonus track taken from the deluxe edition of Rocky’s long-awaited (and recently leaked) full-length debut, LongLiveASAP.
The song is thick with Welch’s influence, and features her unmistakable voice both underneath Rocky’s rap during the verses as well as singing the song’s melodic hook in the chorus.
Welch is a savvy collaborator, performing live with artists like the xx and most recently the Rolling Stones during their 50th anniversary tour, and cooperative studio efforts such as “Sweet Nothing,” her song with dance producer Calvin Harris that topped the British singles chart.
During a recent interview with CBS News, Welch admitted that even though she’s purchased a home, she still lives with her mother. Florence and the Machine is nominated for two 2013 GRAMMY awards: Best Pop/Duo/Group Performance for “Shake It Up,” and Best Pop Vocal Album for the band’s sophomore full-length, Ceremonials.
