Tonight’s HFS Locals Only Spotlight artist features the recently-defunct D.C. pop punk band The Coastals.
You may remember us featuring The Coastals last May, with a song called “Don’t Owe Anyone” from their then-new album entitled Burn White Hot, recorded at the legendary Inner Ear Studios in D.C. We had been very intrigued by the quickly-evolving sound of this band, so we checked back to see what they’ve been up to since then, and we spotted an announcement on their Facebook page stating that they had broken up…sort of. The band promises to return soon with a new name and a new sound. They did, however, leave behind one new song that was slated to be on their next album, which was to be called Bottom Line, Up Front.
We’re sad to see that The Coastals is no more, but we’re appreciative of what they left behind, and we’re interested to see what comes next. In the meantime, check out the songs below.
If you’ve got a local band you’d like us to feature on the HFS Locals Only Spotlight weeknights at 9 PM, here’s how to get your stuff to us.
