Tonight’s HFS Locals Only Spotlight artist is Defending Cain, a five-piece alternative hard rock band from the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. Yeah, we know…we usually say that “local music” comes from Maryland, D.C., Virginia, Pennsylvania or Delaware…but their hometown of Inwood is just across the state line…and these guys are really good, so it’s worth it. It’s the kind of melodic hard rock that’s easy to like, even if you’re not normally a fan of hard rock. You know, like Deftones.
Defending Cain just released their debut CD Elements, with a fresh new version of their song “Trinity”. If the song impresses you like it impressed us, check out one of their upcoming CD release shows:
- April 26 – at Sweet Carolines, Winchester, VA
- May 4 – at Gulliftys Underground, Camp Hill, PA
- May 12 – at the Blue Fox, Winchester, VA – opening for Nonpoint
- May 19 – at Shiley Acres, Inwood, WV opening for Chevelle
Get to know the band better by checking out their website at www.defendingcain.com….and if you’ve got a local band you’d like us to feature on the HFS Locals Only Spotlight weeknights at 8 PM, here’s how to get your stuff to us.
