Fall Out Boy Debut Punk Throwback Anthem, ‘Love, Sex, Death’
Revitalized pop-punk heroes Fall Out Boy, still riding high on the success of the band’s triumphant comeback album Save Rock and Roll, have released a brand new single, “Love, Sex, Death” from yet another new full-length due next month. Listen to the song over at Rolling Stone.
The palm-muting punk-throwback comes from their upcoming sixth LP Pax Am Days, recorded at Ryan Adams‘ Pax Am Studio in Los Angeles in just two days. It hurtles by in under 90 seconds, much closer to the band’s original punk-influenced sound than the R&B and pop slant on much of Save Rock and Roll.
“These are cave paintings, scrawled to just let the world know we were here,” bass player Pete Wentz told Rolling Stoneabout the new track and accompanying clip. “This video is made up of footage we shot ourselves on our worldwide tour in the summer of 2013.”
