There are few things Dave Grohl likes to do more than rock (except maybe drink coffee?). After taking something of a hiatus to make his directorial debut with last year’s Sound City documentary, Grohl and the gang are ready to reconvene as the Foo Fighters, surprising a pizza joint in Moorpark, Calif., this week (December 9) with an unannounced 23-song set set.
The band’s official return is set for this week, with the Foo Fighters headlining a pair of massive shows in Mexico City (December 11 and 13) bringing along opening act The National. In order to get the group in fighting shape for the comeback concerts, the Foos took to the stage at Moorpark’s Redballs Rock & Roll Pizza, running through such fan favorites as “Everlong” and “Learn to Fly.”
