Whether it’s a look back at about all the bands that played the legendary HFStival over the years, or whether it’s a rundown of all the great alternative rock artists from Maryland that got their big break, it’s inevitable–nay, mandatory–that Jimmie’s Chicken Shack is the core of the conversation.
After getting their first break when “High” got played on radio stations across the country, the band returned in 1999 with Bring Your own Stereo, the most commercially-successful album of their career, spawning the radio singles “Do Right” and “Trash”, and earning them invitations to tour with bands such as 311 and Fuel.
Now, 15 years later, frontman Jimi Haha is literally getting the band back together to a big B.Y.O.S. anniversary show at Rams Head Live. In the week leading up to the show, our very own Neci caught up with Jimi as he reflected on that classic album and looked forward to a great show with a lot of friends.
