Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails was a bit miffed at the GRAMMY Awards after the telecast cut off the end of their performance the other night. He tweeted, “Music’s biggest night… to be disrespected. A heartfelt F*** YOU guys.”

The sweater-clad guys of Vampire Weekend had just bested Nine Inch Nails in the Best Alternative Album category to take home the GRAMMY for Modern Vampires of the City. At the time, Vampire Weekend weren’t exactly sure to whom Reznor’s ire was directed.

In an interview with KROQ’s Kevin and Bean (a Radio.com station), Vampire Weekend told them what happened when they saw Reznor’s tweet.

“We saw that last night and we were worried for a second that it was about us because Nine Inch Nails were in our category,” said Vampire Weekend drummer Chris Thomson. “So we thought, ‘Oh, damn. Is Trent Reznor pissed at the Dubs?’”

The ‘Dubs’ of course were not the subject of the Reznor’s wrath, and the band’s fears were quickly assuaged.
