Remember when I first played “Fall In Love” by Phantogram, and said that it was so dark and trippy that I wasn’t sure how much our listeners would like it? Well, as we all know by now, the song was an immediate smash for you guys…so today I’m testing out another dark and sexy track to see what happens.

The name of this NYC electronic indie dance duo is ASTR (rhymes with “plaster”). They’re one of the latest signings to Neon Gold Records, the label co-founded by Lizzy Plapinger of MS MR. The song is called “Operate”, from their new EP called Varsity. It’s got a hip-hop beat behind it, and a spooky and seductive vibe to it. Give it a listen, then tell me in the comment section below if this is something you think we should be playing on HFS.
