HFS Locals Only Spotlight: Carry The Banner “Bad With Matches”

Tonight’s HFS Locals Only Spotlight features a dose of pop punk by Carry The Banner, hailing from Pasadena and Glen Burnie. They’ve only been together for a few months now, but bassist Jon Manner declares, “My friends and band mates believe [we are] the kick to the balls pop punk has been missing for the last five or eight years. We don’t lose ourselves in endless breakdowns or confuse ourselves with crazy time signatures, we just play hard hitting pop punk that keeps us jumping and catches people by surprise.”

If carry The banner’s music makes you agree that they’ve brought something crucial back to local pop punk, then check them out live at The Ottobar on February 23rd, along with Locals Only Spotlight alumni Highest Honor and Something More, among others.

Additionally, they’re offering up their new EP for free (download all the tracks below)…and if it gets enough downloads, they’ve promised to post a video of vocalist Tom Takach getting clocked upside the head with Manner’s bass.

Find out more about Carry The Banner on their Facebook page…and if you’ve got a local band you’d like us to feature on the HFS Locals Only Spotlight one of these weeknights at 8 PM, here’s how to get your stuff to us.
