For tonight’s HFS Locals Only Spotlight, we revisit The Evokatones and their “Baltimore reggae goodness and soul ska”. You may remember seeing them open for Matt And Kim last August at one of our free “Friday Night Live” shows at Power Plant Live, or when we first featured them back in December 2012.
This Friday night, they’ll be at the Sidebar to headline the first night of RABTFest, one of many shows throughout the year that benefit Feed The Scene, a local DIY bed and breakfast that gives cash-strapped bands a free meal and a free place to crash when they’re playing Baltimore. Other local bands on the same bill include Scotch Bonnets (soul/reggae/funk), Walk the Plank (punk/hardcore), and The Thiefs (raucous rock ‘n’ roll).
Check out the new album by The Evokatones called Emergency, and find out more about ’em on their website and on their Facebook page…and if you’ve got a local band you’d like us to feature on the HFS Locals Only Spotlight one of these weeknights at 8 PM, here’s how to get your stuff to us.
