Looking for something to do this weekend? Maryland is a land of Inspiration during Black History Month. Benjamin Banneker Historical Park in Oella will be celebrating African American firsts, including the park’s namesake, the first African American Man of Science. Baltimore’s Reginald F. Lewis Museum hosts the Kinsey Collection.
Geppi’s Entertainment Museum in Baltimore features Milestones, a look at African Americans in comics, pop culture and beyond. More African-American history can be found at Banneker-Douglass Museum in Annapolis, Historic St. Mary’s City in Southern Maryland and along the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Scenic Byway on the Eastern Shore.
