Morrissey’s First New Album in Five Years Gets a Title
By Paul de Revere
Morrissey has given us more than his fair share of gobsmacking, WTF titles over the years. “I Have Forgiven Jesus” and “We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful” are but two of many over the course of his post-Smiths solo career. Now he’s supposedly revealed the title of his next studio album, which will obviously get more than a few people talking.
According to the Moz fan site, True to You, Morrissey’s first legit LP in five years is titled World Peace Is None of Your Business.
Yes, that’s actually the reported title. Any chance he’s speaking to the U.S. government and it’s a legitimate political barb against American imperialism? Sure. Why not.
Fair warning: the very reputable Morrissey fan site also indicated that the 12-track album “has been provisionally set” for a summer release worldwide. So chin up, mopey Morrissey fans, your idol may be returning soon.
Morrissey kicks off his upcoming U.S. tour on May 7 in San Jose, CA. He’s surely hoping that this U.S. tour will fare far better than his attempt at a Stateside jaunt, which was unceremoniously canceled after being plagued with health issues that landed the singer in a Royal Oak, MI, hospital with bleeding ulcer last January.
