Interpol will offer up their fifth full-length album on Sept. 9, titled El Pintor. The collection will be released by Matador Records, and will open with the peppy bounce of lead song, “All the Rage Back Home,” for which a music video has dropped today (July 9).
Peppy by Interpol’s standards, of course; not peppy by, say, Miley Cyrus’ standards.
The black-and-white video, directed by frontman Paul Banks and collaborator Sophia Peer, finds the band performing the new song in a darkened room. Meanwhile, shots outside said room are spliced into the picture, featuring large, rushing waves.
Those waves are traversed by the video’s secondary star: a surfer, who has quite the skill, doing some acrobatics over the surges with nary a bobble.
