You’ve got to hand it to Billy Corgan: the Smashing Pumpkins frontman stays prolific.

Somehow between penning a 200,000-word memoir (that’s not even halfway done), operating his tea shop Madame ZuZu‘s and preparing his Adore reissue, Corgan has completed recording Smashing Pumpkins‘ next album Monuments to An Elegy.

On the band’s website, Corgan wrote, “So it’s done now, Monuments for an Elegy that is; and what a relief.” There, he referred to it as ‘for an elegy’ rather than ‘to an elegy'; it’s unclear whether it was a typo or if the album title has changed.

The album, which features Mötley Crüe‘s Tommy Lee on drums for all nine songs, only needs to be mixed.

Corgan opened up about the recording process in his post, writing that the album just poured out of him.

“M2AE was one of the easiest and most pleasurable albums I’ve ever made,” he said. “Yes, the lesser number of songs helped, as did the focus on material that was worthy of repeated effort. But as a process (I hate that word, but it applies here), making the album was a grand ‘ol time. Or as they used to say back in the day: making MONUMENTS TO AN ELEGY, we had a gay ‘ol time.”
