In an interview with Rolling Stone, Bassnectar explains Morello’s new music endeavor, which will combine electronic music with Morello’s signature guitar rock histrionics.
“He’s working with multiple electronic music producers to create electronic songs that he can recreate live on this super, perverted, unexplainable, bastardized guitar mutant instrument thing,” Bassnectar said.
And while all the producers that Morello is working with are currently unknown, Bassnectar is the first to make himself known.
The DJ/producer notes being impressed by Morello’s knowledge of his own work in the initial call to collaborate.
“You could tell he wasn’t faking it because he starts referencing different songs and different bass lines of different songs. You quickly realize, ‘Woah! He is not only a fan, he is really f—–g educated [on electronic music],'” Bassnectar said.
