My Chemical Romance will not reunite.

“We’ve been really touched and blown away by the response to the teaser trailer,” reads a statement on the band’s official Twitter account. “We are not touring and there is no reunion planned – only a release for the anniversary of The Black Parade.”

“Thanks so much for continuing to keep MCR in your minds and your hearts.”

Yesterday, MCR fans hoped that news of a reunion was imminent when the band posted a mysterious video clip with the date September 23rd, 2016.

The clip was scored by the piano intro from “Welcome to the Black Parade,” and many fans correctly guessed that the date was tied to the tenth anniversary of the band’s iconic album. However, speculation also ran rampant that the band would reunite and tour.

For now, it appears that is not the case.
