Avenged Sevenfold Announce Virtual Reality Concert Experience

By Amanda Wicks

Just because fans can’t attend a concert doesn’t mean they have to miss out anymore. As technology makes it more and more possible to “be there” from the comfort of your couch, “Concert and Chill” could become the new phase for listeners who prefer a calmer environment while still wanting to catch all the music.

Avenged Sevenfold is partnering with Universal Music Group (UMG) to perform a 3D /360-degree, live streamed concert on Thursday (Oct. 27). The concert will be held in Los Angeles, but broadcast globally beginning at 8:30pm PDT. Fans can either turn into Avenged Sevenfold’s Facebook page to catch the live stream, or they can take things to the next level with UMG’s new app VRTGO. That app will be powered by VRLIVE’s advanced technology that makes a concert seem like an in-person experience.

Those interested in attending the concert can also get virtual. VRLIVE will broadcast the show to 50 Samsung Gear VR headsets on the ground level at the concert, so those fans can see what it’s like up on the stage. Talk about skipping the line and getting right to the front.
