With the help of his fellow Foo Fighters and a little movie magic, Grohl takes on the role of Carrie White, from the classic horror movie based on Stephen King’s first novel.
If the first few seconds of the Foo Fighters upcoming new record — a measly eight — let fans know anything it’s that Dave Grohl and the guys can definitely still rock.
With bands of a certain stature, the announcement of the announcement has become a part of the tradition. So, the Foo Fighters posting on Facebook that Monday will see big news is just part of the game.
A new Foo Fighters album grows ever closer, accompanied by an HBO series in October — and according to Dave Grohl, it’ll be a nice alternative to the singing competitions of today.
“We’re doing things that we’ve never done before. And I want to say that it’s only eight songs but I think it might be our longest record because, as I was writing these songs, I had to take a cinematic approach,” Dave Grohl said.
Much like the Dave Grohl-directed feature, Sound City, the Foo Fighters’ HBO show will be shot documentary style, and will be “a love letter to the history of American music,” according to Grohl himself.
Dave Grohl is coming to your TV set again, this time with his own show.
