A new Foo Fighters album grows ever closer, accompanied by an HBO series in October — and according to Dave Grohl, it’ll be a nice alternative to the singing competitions of today.
Life Is Beautiful Festival will return for a second year in Las Vegas this October with Kanye West, Foo Fighters and Outkast as headliners.
In the growing sea of American music festivals, New Orleans’ annual Voodoo Music + Arts Experience lineup stands out this year with a power-packed bill that boasts Foo Fighters, Skrillex, Outkast and Arctic Monkeys as headliners.
“We’re doing things that we’ve never done before. And I want to say that it’s only eight songs but I think it might be our longest record because, as I was writing these songs, I had to take a cinematic approach,” Dave Grohl said.
Much like the Dave Grohl-directed feature, Sound City, the Foo Fighters’ HBO show will be shot documentary style, and will be “a love letter to the history of American music,” according to Grohl himself.
After much speculation, Big Tony’s Birthday Celebration at the 9:30 Club, hosted by Dave Grohl featuring Trouble Funk and some “special guests,” did in fact end up including the Foo Fighters.
