Axl Rose would like you to know, he’s alive and well and getting a good laugh at some recent headline-grabbing news pertaining to him reportedly being dead.
Turns out, Axl doesn’t think the honor is deserved, but does have a long list of singers he would rather listen to than himself.
Last night (May 21), Axl Rose responded to an online report that he was considering putting an end to his longtime band, Guns N’ Roses.
We’ve gotten used to a long wait between Guns N’ Roses albums, but it seems the next one could come as early as next year.
The band’s former bassist will reunite with Axl Rose for the first time since 2010.
The hubbub came mainly from the album’s “hidden track,” where Axl Rose performed an acoustic version of Charles Manson’s “Look At Your Game, Girl.” Rose wasn’t shy about his love for Manson, rocking shirts with the singers’ face during the Use Your Illusion tour. The song…well, there’s a reason it’s hidden: It doesn’t add to the album, and feels tacked on solely to gain attention.
“I was listening to it and I thought ‘Oh my God, I’d forgotten how much I hate his voice.’ I’m sorry! To some people, Axl Rose is royalty. To me, it’s like fingers on a chalkboard.”
